Kenny_Stang, Around seven years ago, I had a new Comptech Novi Paxton Model 1000 supercharger and aftercooler installed (in my garage) on my '02 S2000 (AP1). Except for once throwing the supercharger belt at around 8900 rpm, and finding that the supercharger had a defective oil seal, the unit has worked perfectly. The defective oil seal (was spitting oil out past the supercharger intake) and was replaced at the Paxton factory under warranty. While the unit was there, I had them install the smaller 7 psi AP2 pulley on the supercharger. Since the AP1 redlines at 9,000rpm instead of the AP2 limit of 8,000rpm it upped the maximum power from 295 rwhp to 310 rwhp after the dyno tuner got the air/fuel mixture set properly. It is my understanding that with the Comptech supercharger kit installs it is absolutely necessary to take the car to an expert tuner who uses a rear-wheel dyno to get the air/fuel mixture set properly to avoid a too lean condition in VTEC.
One thing discovered on my AP1 was that the OEM plastic PVC valve was sometime allowing boost to escape past the valve. I ended up replacing the stock valve with a new one and also adding a Toyota Supra all-metal PVC in the line which absolutely ended the problem. My 2002 Supercharged S2000 now has around 52,000 miles with about 30,000 miles of that with the supercharger. I have kept the exhaust system stock except for installing a BERK high-flow cat.
I am glad that you installed the SOS Racing Heat Exchanger which should have over double the cooling capacity over the small Comptech kit Heat Exchanger. I expect that my car would have more power if I changed the small existing Heat Exchanger for one like your SOS unit with a higher capacity water pump. Adding the supercharger lowered my average fuel mileage by a little over 1 mpg. To handle the extra power to the rear wheels, I purchased a used set of AP2 wheels and mounted new 225/45 R17 Bridgestone Potenza S-04 tires on the front and 255/40 R17 S-04 tires on the back. With this wheel/tire combo the car handles absolutely neutral in curves. On the smaller 16" AP1 wheels I have mounted Bridgestone Potenza PE-970 AS Pole Position M+S tires for use in the winter.
As the co-organizer of the 'spirited' Arkansas Boston Mountains Tours, my S2000 has seen lots of miles of high-speed use on the mountain roads of NW Arkansas. This November 1st, we are holding the 16th one of these semi-annual BMT tours which will be starting and ending (275-300 miles later) in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. This event is now drawing hot sports cars from 7 or 8 different states and is not limited to Honda S2000 and NSX cars: Turbo 911 Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, BMW, Viper, ZO6 Corvette, M-B E63 AMG, and other sports cars have attended these events. Check out the S2KI Ark-La-Tex BMT thread if your are interested. Jerome/NW Arkansas
