just trying to shift to second fast and hard and seems like its in but its not. if i slow down my 1st to 2nd shift i can do it no prob but id rather not lost that time if i dont have to.
So the gear shift lever goes all the way into second, but the engine revs freely after the shift?

Sounds more like a slipping clutch than a transmission issue...

i started using royal purple due to the "2nd gear grind", and i'm going to try the new honda MTF next time, due to the fact that royal purple didn't seem to help the problem

I have the 2nd gear grind occasioinally... most horrble sound ever. Usually happens when I am really getting on it in 1st (in VTEC), shift to second, fast because thats how I shift, GRRRIIIIIIINDDDDD.

I would put Honda MTF and change the knob!

I know nobody cares about the knob but quite a few people here can confirm that car is very picky when it comes to shift knob.

So your aftermarket shift knob might be playing a part in that, get something else and see if you face the same issues.

I would just put honda MTF and another shift knob and go from there.
Hope it helps.

And stop racing in straight line and bring it out to an autocross to see what this car can do...else you might end up with messed up diff and tranny

I agree on the knob because I have a voodoo on mine to and I miss second and I also have a skunk 2 knob thats pretty heavy and when I use it I don't ever miss it.
