Default OBD2 scanner preferences?

I know that you can go to any of the auto parts stores and get them to put their scanner on your car, but I've been thinking of getting one just for convenience and ran across the http://www.scangauge.com/products/scangaugeii/ that looks like it would do the trick but also be a nice in-car readout of a couple of data points. Anyone have one of these or another recommendation>?

Check out the "Torque" app. From what I gather, you buy a cable or adapter of some sort that connects your smartphone to the OBDII port and you can read and reset codes using this app that you download onto your phone.

I got the blue tooth acanner off Amazon for like 20 bucks I think, maybe 30 and use via the torque app. The app was 5 bucks. Works great. Clears codes if clearable, data logs, displays real time info. i use it on the S2K and my Tundra since you can have different profiles. For the money its amazing.

I'd need a iOS application, but that's interesting to say the least.

http://www.creosys.fi/ available on more platforms. It works pretty well, I spent $10 for the 'Pro' version. The base version is free. works the same way as the above posts mentioned. Edit: here is the product page http://www.obdautodoctor.com/

It looks like for the iOS devices that you have to have a WiFi send unit and that most of the hardware and software are cross compatible so i went ahead and ordered a PLX unit today. Now I need a mount for my phone and I should be set. Will post up a review in a month or so once I get a chance to put it through it's paces.
