Hate to bring this thread up again, but...

Has anyone ordered/tested this yet?

Thanks
I bought a can and put it on all 3 of my plates (2-truck, 1-s2k)

I'm not terribly impressed by it, though. Maybe it will work when it counts - but it looks like all it is is a polyurethane (or whatever) coating that will make the plate extra-glossy to overexpose pictures.

I took a couple pics with my digital camera as I was doing it (took flash and non flash pics with the garage lights both on and off and the garage door closed) - The blocked plates were just as visible as my comparison unblocked-plate. Maybe it would make a difference at a much longer distance like a speed camera would be using - but I dunno.

I also wonder if the product's effectiveness will wear off over time as the plate gets exposed to dirt, wind, etc - and the glossiness wears down (especially for the front plate on my truck).

So... I dunno... maybe it will work (maybe it has already! but how are you gonna know?) - but I'm doubtful.

Interesting that "Photoblocker" never responded.

This stuff is advertised in every automobile mag I read. There's always two demo pics of a Z4. One "with photoblocker and flash" and one "with photoblocker". You can't see the plates of "photoblocker with flash" but you can on the "with photoblocker". 99% of the poplulation doesn't pick up on the fact that they actually BOTH have the spray.

This still would only cover by the cameras - I received a ticket for running the tollbooth and a human "spotter" took down my plate info.
Shoulda been going faster

Anyone consider actually stopping at red lights? Stop signs? How many of you have almost been hit by some idiot running a red light? And toll booths- anything wrong with paying as eveyone else does? Come on, grow up guys!

Gene, this conversation has nothing to do with redlights. We're talking about toll booths - especially the 75

Let's not start this argument again

I don't think anyone is thinking "ooh - now that I've photoblocked my plates my days of stopping for those pesky red lights are through!!".

Unless of course I was beating you in a race to Scuba Toys the day they decide to give away that mask with the integrated computer.

I just ran a red light on one of those intersections with the cameras. It was daylight so the photoblocker wouldn't have helped but I am definitely buying a can.

No, I didn't deliberately run the red light but I was in the left turn lane and pulled out into the intersection some because I saw a break in the oncoming traffic. When the break arrived and just as I started accelerating the light changed to yellow. Before I could clear the intersection the light had gone to red. You see in addition to adding the camera they also shortened the yellow time to increase city revenues.

When I got home I immediately documented the circumstance, because I would have forgotten by the time the Cvil ticket was mailed to me, and I got it notarized to show that I wrote this at the time of the event, and not 5 minutes before I decided to protest the inevitable ticket that will be coming. Whether that will help, I don't know, but it is all I can do.

Stopping in mid intersection and trying to back into a now occupied left turn lane and obstructing traffice simply was not an option.

Sometimes it is impossible not to run a red light when they stack the deck against you. So GeneB I can't wait for you to get your ticket. It's not a planned event, but sometimes it happens.

TxDOT has done studies that show an increase of 1 second in the yellow timing does more to stop the running of red lights than anything. Unfortunately that doesn't put money in the city's coffers and that's what it's all about!

WildnCrazy - look on ebay - they sell it all day long for 23.95 - shipping included... and thats the BIN price - you can prob buy it cheaper.

now, for that info, you owe me an update as to whether it really works or not.
