Photoblocker - does this work?
I have tried to order a can but ran into a glitch in the payment catagory (won't let me do anything but PayPal even tho he says he'll accept M.O. or Cashiers check) so I have emailed the seller.
I will let you know when it gets here. Hopefully I will have it on before the autocross so you can see it in person.

Wildncrazy... 2 things...
1, if your story is true, you won't be getting an envelope in the mail. You have to *enter* the intersection *after* the light turns red to get your picture mailed to you.
2, It is a violation of the traffic code to *enter* an intersection before it is safe to proceed *through* the intersection. You have to stay behind the white line until you can go all the way through, so there's no need to whine about how dangerous it is to back up. You'd already broken the law (but not the civil statute that provides for tickets in the mail) when you crossed the line and parked your car in an intersection.

I suspect you are wrong, but I hope you are right. You forget that these red light camera's main purpose is revenue generation.
They have just gone active in the past few days and according to the news there were something over 100 false reds generated by this particular camera.
I am not sure about the entering after the light turns red as I understand it all you have to do is be in the intersection when the light turns red to warrant a ticket.

The real question with these cameras is not the law - but the software. What triggers them & how do they work?
Saw a police officer at the restaurant I was at for lunch so I asked him about the cameras.
He says that all you have to do is be in the intersection when the light turns red to get a ticket. So they are Yellow light cameras. They catch people running the yellow light.

It is whoever enters an intersection AFTER the light turns red (in plano):
Using digital video presence cameras the system will trigger when a vehicle enters an intersection after the light changes to red.
From This PDF. You will find a solid white or red line at most of these intersections that the camera/software use to determine entrance into the intersection after a red.
Don't listen to everything a cop tells you... look it up for yourself.

I'm in Richardson
Here's what I found after about a minute of searching for "red light cameras richardson":
Link to Richardson POlice Department FAQ page about red light cameras.
FWIW, if you click on the How do the red light cameras work? link, you might find the following information useful:
[QUOTE]Each intersection equipped with Automated Red Light Camera equipment will have a series of digital cameras installed near the roadway.
