Well Al,
Consider yourself just part of the club... I haven't had any luck either... maybe I'm too much of an S2000 geek for a girl, so even I scare people away

Seriously though, I've only even seen one female S2000 driver outside of the crew that already attends our autocrosses over TWO YEARS. The one female driver I have seen, I saw several times on the tollway and despite waving, flashing my lights, and pulling up next to her with a huge smile... she competely ignored me on THREE seperate occasions. (I guess she's just not sociable, or I'm really scary )

Does anyone acutally see other female S2000 drivers outside of the few of us that already come to our events?

I see a middle aged blonde driving a black one in the Highland Park area every once in a while. That's all I can think of.

Well there was the Female S2000 driver i stalked in Mineral Wells. I saw here driving around and followed her to her house and then came back in the evening and talked to her and her boyfreind lol. Invited them to the AutoX but they didnt show. I dont think she was a sporting driver type.

As odd as it sounds, I have recently met three, 25+/- year old, female accountants that drive S2Ks. They were all auditors for Big-6 (are there still 6?) firms making sure we had all of our T's crossed and widgets labeled, All of which I approached with a smile and club card. Apparently our car is a good deal as well as THE FINEST SPORTSCAR ON THE PLANET. Never saw them again . Must be that overwhelmingly attractive middle-aged crazy vibe I have going .

Regards,

Al

C- Was it a black '04 that she was driving? If it was then I've the same woman twice on the Tollroad up North and she basically behaved the same way. Absolutely no sign that she even new I was there...then again, that's really quite normal for me...

But of course... isn't that why you bought yours?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just because someone owns an S2000 doesn't mean that they "get it". There's a guy that I work with like that. I'm relatively certain that he bought his S2000 just to "look cool and pick up chicks". I, on the other hand, always take the beater when I'm scouting for girls. If they don't like me in the Accord, they better not come running when I'm in the S2000. Of course... that may explain why I'm still single.

Then there was the day I was driving home on 190 and I saw this young lady driving a red S2k with really nice wheels and I pulled up to wave. She looked alarmed and took the nearest exit. Now there's an EgoBuster for ya... Then again, why should I expect CC to recognize me in my station wagon? Heh. Or then again, it could have been my not-quite-middle-aged crazy vibe.

Hope that makes the rest of you guys feel better...

Dtoh, I'll keep a closer eye on waving, beeping drivers of wagons from now on. Sorry I missed you. I actually remember that incident. It was one of those where my brain has a tough time recognizing someone out-of-context and then my silly mind realizes who it was about 30 seconds too late to wave and smile .
So here you go (a bit too late, will you ever forgive me? )

And yes Photodavo... the woman driving the black... it's a black '04 with the new OEM wing. Man I've tried, but it's evident that she just isn't feeling the whole S2000 community thing, that or she's on another planet when she's driving... oh well...

Well, one of you is probably talking about me and the other isn't. Photodavo, I'm sure I've seen you south of 635 (like Mockingbird to NW Hwy) a couple of times - I'd just hoped to fall in behind you or next to you in traffic but then my exit came up before I could get over (thought you might be Gregg, but would've waved or V'd or honked or something anyway)......but I don't have a wing and am pretty sure I haven't seen you, EgoThreat, though I have been accused of being from another planet from time to time.

Oh, and thanks to Clovis for getting me re-validated - sheesh! Don't update your E-mail address and expect to be able to reply anytime that same week! I've been chomping at the bit to get into this conversation and could only watch - it wouldn't let me reply (no permission, and I even asked nicely several times - yes, both Pretty Please and Mother May I).

At any rate, I am very interested in participating in the club events, dinners, autocross, lake weekend, etc; HOWEVER, we bought a new house 4 months ago and are spending all of our spare time working to update it and entertaining friends who haven't been over, not to mention that we're actively involved in the area Triumph club.

In reply to gernby and mxt77's suggestions as to how to court female S2000 drivers - I certainly don't think that DFW women are that skittish, and one would assume that a female S2000 driver would have more b@!!s than most (I think the firm ride would weed out the lightweights IMHO), and that any guy jumping into the car wearing a ski mask would be begging for his life by the end of the ride ;-)
