Please take the time to consider whether or not the NTS2KOC should become affiliated with the National S2000 organization. I've informally discused this a number of times and we have been waiting to see the possible benefits of joining a larger club. The local sailing club I belong to has been successful under the same organization structure. The primary benefit has been access to affordable liability insurance for our events, flags, timing devices and radios.
I would appreciate your comments on this matter. This has been a while in the making but the post (see link below) represents the first public announcement outside of the s2ki website. I expressed an interest in becoming an officer for the N. Texas region late last year. If the N.Texas group approves I would be willing to continue as Director under the new structure until such time as club elections can be held for the next slate of officers. If the group should decide not to join at this time I will respect the decision and continue as we have for the past few months.

I don't see a down side to joining. If dues come in two flavors so be it. I think that the benefit would out weigh any cost. As you requested it would be good to see the by laws before comitting.

If web space becomes an issue, I would be happy to host it. Seems like the least I can do since I can't attend any of the events.

It sounds like the main benefit at the moment is event insurance. Which is great. We just need to organize more events. Oh wait, that's my job. Damn. Hmm.

Speaking of events, Mr. Event Organizer, when are we going to have a "Track Day" at TMS?

It might be easier to get sponsership if we were a "national" club too. I think we need to hear more about it. Next meeting maybe? Sorry I missed the last one. By the way, what is our web address?

Molly,
We are planning a meeting of the club officers in the near future to discuss the club issues in detail. I'll e-mail you soon.

As far as the webpage goes, Insomniak prepared a temp page to post on s2000online but the address does not work. Perhaps when cthree finishes the new server it will work...

Be sure to check out the new Texas section at s2ki.com in the interim.
