Ewwwww. Don't. I've seen 5 traded in at the time I was at Honda, and none have impressed me. The quality is really sub par for any MB, and even lower than some lesser vehicles. The car is underpowered for it's mass, under equipped for its price, underperforming for it's stlye.
If you need a german convertible the 3 series is a better vehicle, and more practical with two rear seats.
Both will be expensive to maintain.
But, you need to drive one. Drive more than one, and drive them on multiple occasions before considering making a purchase. A lot of people get sucked into the thrill of purchasing something new that they can lose objectivity. It happens all the time, and it's the customer - not the salesperson that does it. We just don't stop you...

Going to high school with several spoiled as hell kids driving these, even some 17 year old girl posing on fb in her bikini by her mercedes daddy bought her for her 17th birthday... I strongly dislike these cars. I can't imagine I would enjoy owning one of these. I was the only one driving an s2000 senior year, and hell, I knew my car was cheaper than buying a brand new stang or mercedes slk and I loved it 10 times as much as those spoiled kids could love their cars. My s2000 has never been in a wreck and has remained that way for the 2 years I've owned it. I hope it will last me 25 years because I want to track it after college.
Here are your basic specs dimensions and the good stuff.

Many people complain about our cars interior. I love it, but thats mostly my love affair with the digital guage which is one of the first comments I get from everyone in my car is that my digital guage is cool. The next most asked question is where is the radio?! Its in front of the shift knob with a drop down door, I believe aluminum finish in the ap2s? Anyways with a stock honda radio in the s2000 you can control your volume and such with controls on the left of your steering wheel. Mine are disabled with my alpine 9886, but you can pay like $100 for a modifry cable to fix that.
I am not sure how safe the mercedes is, seeing as we've had local members here survive being under 18 wheelers and such is a good sign of how safe the s2000 is without needing side air bags. There is a metal bar supporting the front windshield and roll bars behind the seats, a great combination in the event you roll over going in a ditch. It also has a 5 star side rating and 4 star front crash rating.
Insurance is something I would definitely compare as another factor between these two cars. Mercedes is certainly a more luxurious brand than honda, but I love the simplicity of my honda, I believe that I could be an ignorant 60 year old woman, and only do basic maintenance like fluid changes and this car would last till 110k+ miles, after that random things start needing replacement, but there are already some people with 200k miles on their s2000.

Overall it comes down to you, not our opinions. Weigh your personal needs, heck two seaters are the least practical cars in the world, they're usually meant to be fun and powerful sports cars. You should test drive both, s2000s only come in manual though. I had sat in and been driven a mile before buying my s2000 and I loved it enough I didn't need more proof.
If you do buy an s2000, take it slow getting used to this car, while I am accident free, I've lost control of my rear tires once in front of traffic and luckily was directly by a median opening where I slapped it into first and smoothly drove onto the other side where there was no traffic. All it took was aggressively lane changing around a lexus who cut me off then went below the speed limit, I lost my rear changing lanes. Early s2000s I hear are even more tail happy. My point is get used to the car before getting aggressive. I haven't lost control of my car since, that was month 3 of owning my car. Most owners experience a wreck in the first 2 months of owning the car if they are going to get in a wreck

There is no comparision between the two but it all depends on what you are looking for. I can hate on you all day for even comparing a true sports car with a pos german hybrid between luxury and wtf but I won't since I know how it feels when people hate on you instead of helping you out.
What specific info you are looking for?
SLK is auto, 3.5L V6 that is faster than AP1 in a straight line, don't know about AP2 but when it comes to track, that SLK won't even stand a chance...it handles like crap comparing to S2K. If you are looking for an auto to just cruise in, save yourself the money and headache of dropping your car everyday at dealership and buy something else.
German cars used to be the shiz with all the nice engines and looks but it has become a status symbol in the last few years and all they are good for is compensating for something else you don't have. I know I hate german cars, I am going to end my rant here....I am in a pissy mood coz two german cars tried to kill me this morning...I think they don't come with blinkers!

I used the same site for comparing both, there are tons of reviews on both cars but in order to really find the car that meets your needs, you need to drive them both. You can't decide based on specs or how other people feel if you like the car or not. Go drive both the cars and if you buy SLK over S2000, don't come back and say that I didn't warn you!
