Like the McLaren F1 LM back in 1995 is about $1 mil. now is north of 4 mil. Let me know if I am off on the price.

I cant tell you how many SLK's ive driven, the only 2 that impressed me were the SL63 and the SL55, both of which are AMG. They arent too bad but your buying an under powered, over priced german POS. I would rather drive a 1 or 3 series BMW. But trying to compare an SLK350 to an S2000 regardless of year, is like trying to compare a refined attractive virgin chick (SLK), to an energetic, drop dead gorgeous girl, with beautiful curves. Who likes to go balls to the wall until the end. (S2000)... Need I say more?
I’m not trying to start an argument here, but seriously, after 10 years of production and all the advancements OTHER car manufacturers have made, isn’t the S2000 underpowered and outdated? The reason we drive these cars are because they are fast (although you can buy faster for the same amount of money or less today), they handle wonderfully, and they are great looking no-nonsense roadsters.

To say the SLK is an underpowered POS, doesn’t make sense to me when in a straight line is equal to the S2000 even with an automatic transmission. Handling and reliability wise, perhaps you could have an argument, but I have not yet seen statistics online on posted within this thread for this. One thing is for sure, the Benz dealers would provide far superior customer service and warranty work than any pathetic Honda dealer in the country hands down – it’s what Benz owners pay for in addition to the prestige and status symbol.

Personally, I hate German cars and would never own one, but that’s just me. I would also hate to have to maintain a German vehicle after the warranty period expired (my Porsche owning buddy said $500 to get a sensor light turned off! Ouch!)...

I love my S and anticipate having it another 10 years at least.

Totally agree with that. although I personally have never delt with either Honda or Mercedes personally (in regards to purchasing a car, new or used from either), I have heard stories of the customer service at both and I agree Mercedes is more than likely provides better customer service. And I also agree that if your Benz is about to be out of warranty... Might as well go to the bank and withdrawal all your money. More than likely (comparing Honda and Benz's repair cost) your going to need all the money you can get. That is unless you make at LEAST 6 figures

You spend 50K plus on a car, spend $180 plus shop rate, pay $195 for an oil change for a MB. They better have some damn good service. I want my balls shinier than my car when I leave at those prices.

And just because something is expensive doesn't mean you're going to get good service from it.

Thanks guys!
I drove one today.. I liked it alot but i guess they are two different types of cars. I wont be able to throw around the SLK like i do to my S. I guess we'll just see what happens. It was a 6SP not an Auto everything was smooth like butter.

Think of it this way...MB's cars are POS that is why they need awesome customer service to kiss your butt and act like your personal puppy in order to sell you the car....people buying those cars go there coz they feel like King while their car is being worked on....

On the other hand, Honda doesn't need to kiss your butt, they have given you a damn good car in the first place...people who are Honda fans..biased fans like me...they don't need any butt kissing or any other reason to buy a Honda other than what Honda is actually. I know I am having hell with Honda dealership but I'd buy another Honda in a heartbeat. Dealerships is another whole topic but the car itself is what you spend the most time with/in, not the dealership...unless you buy a German car
