Default Starter anyone?

I've got a friend who needs a starter or starter solenoid.

He was building an Ultralite and got a wire backwards and friend his starter solenoid. He can't find one any cheaper than $200.

Does anyone have an extra or know where to get one cheaper?

What size of motor is attempting to turnover? You could find a cheap one out of an air cooled VW. I don't know about any shops in this area, but I do know of a couple in East Texas.

Check www.car-part.com, it's basically a large auto parts junkyard/recyler listing. I searched quickly for S2000 starter (put in any ap1 year and it will pull up all compatible years)

I found about 7-8 in Texas with 2 in junkyards in kennendale (near fort worth) for 65 and 75 bucks. Sorry I can't give you a link since they use a search database.

Thank you very much I sent that site to him.

I'd never heard of them, I'll have to keep them bookmarked.

No problem, just remember it's basically just an index. You'll want to get detailed pictures and descriptions from whatever junkyard you decide to go with and see what their policy is on returns or warrantys etc since they're all used parts.

There is an import auto part place off Vickery (Steve's Foreign car parts?) in Ft. Worth that will rebuild for around $75. Rebuilt my 5th gen Prelude starter about two years ago. I think they give a 90 day warranty.
