Tempting...
That's one mighty nice looking 993, Elistan. I've always been a big fan of the 993 myself - the "standard" 996 Carrera was way too conservative and pedestrian looking, imho. The 997 is a definite step in the right direction, but the 993 is still a better looker to me. Plus, being the last of the air-cooled 911s ensures that ti will always be something of a "special" car.
I've driven a few different Boxsters, and while I like them, I just don't love them. Besides, I literally see dozens of them a day. Meh. I always turn around to get another glimpse at a 993.
If it were me and I could afford it, I don't think I'd hesitate too long. The cherry 993s are always going to hold their value well, and as Lauren pointed out, they'll only get older as time goes on. If you're going to own one, now is probably the time, and you may even get lucky and find that the car appreciates - it certainly has a much better potential to do so than the S2000.
Better yet, ask yourself this - will you kick yourself if you DON'T do it? If so, then go ahead. Life is short - enjoy it while you can.

I've owned two Porches, a 911S and a 924 Turbo. I wasn't happy with either one, and the maintenance costs were horrendous. They are giving great discounts on 2006 Corvettes. Go take a test ride in one and you will be impressed.
That is an absolutely beautiful car. Gorgeous! I love those wheels - Dad had a set on his first NSX and they're still classic today. I can't say I'd pull the trigger for that kind of money, but I'd be tempted.
As others have pointed out, as long as you don't drive it cross country every week, it'll hold its value very well (just like an NSX) and you actually shouldn't lose much on it.

Everyone I talked to before I decided to pull the plug on the idea of owning a Boxter (or any German car) said "don't do it..." And I am glad I didnt.
Also, I know I may get killed for this, I just would never spend my hard earned money on an American POS - not even a vette on a day they were giving them away for free. Now - don't get me wrong - I LOVE the corvette, but I still remember owning ONE American made vehicle and I know that will be the ONLY one. Never again....
To the corvette's credit, I just read in R&T this weekend that Chevy has made the new Vettes "rattle free" which has never happened in the history of that car.
