things this car makes me do
Today at lunch, I noticed another S parked in a city park while I was on my way to grab a quiznos. On the way back to work, I notice the guy is still there. What the heck, I pull up, and start a conersation with someone for the sole reason that they have an S!! For some reason, I just don't see that happening while I'm in the Pathfinder!! He was a new owner as well, about a week longer than me and it was great comparing notes.
He was unfamiliar with this forum, hopefully, he'll check into it when he gets back to a computer!
Anyway, are these cars great or what?

I occasionally have it happen in my Trooper.
Yes, these cars are great. I frequently wave to (and am waved back at by) other S2k's though occasionally a "soccer mom" will ignore me. I think the majority of drivers, though, recognize that the car is something special and acknowledge that.

On a similar note, even in relatively snobby Dallas, I get a very high wave-back ratio in my C5 when I wave at oncoming Corvettes. It's a comraderie that is fun to be a part of..

I think that mentality goes with a lot of "non-ordinary" vehicles. I know that Porsche drivers used to have a popular tradition where they would flash their lights as they pass another oncoming Porsche. It's kinda like saying: "Yes, I know exactly how much fun you're having!"
I see a lot of Harley riders wave at each other or give a thumbs up, too. You don't see that as much from people driving Accords (probably because they would be spending too much time waving and would get tired). Sometimes I feel silly though, because I'll forget that I'm driving my Accord and I'll wave at an S2K driver. Sometimes they wave back, sometimes they look at me like I'm crazy.

I hadn't thought of that, but it's a good idea. At one point, I looked for a license plate frame that said "My other car is an S2000", but I couldn't find any.

doh! I had the same thing with a vette stuck in traffic on 35 last week. He had t-tops and of course, my top was down. We were doing like 4mph and if I thougt traffic sucked in the pathfinder, it really sucks to be going that slow in the S. Anyways, he and I looked over at each other at the same time and just shared the same look that "wouldn't it be nice to be going about 80 right now?" He nodded and toasted me with his coffee mug and I nodded back and said 'morning'.
Made the suck ass commute a little bit easier!
I'm so glad I got this car.
