Default It is totaled...

Alright, I heard the good(?) news today. It's totaled, and now the fight begins over the value.

I may be asking for some info as to when people bought their cars, how much they paid, etc. I just want to "help" the adjuster come to the "right" value.

Did you pay over MSRP? Hope you dont get stuck on the value. And you will get another one, right? right? RIGHT?

I settled with the insurer today. I'm getting $32150 (+tax, etc.), which is $550 less than I paid for the car.

I guess that's not too bad for having driven it for 6 months and 5500 miles.

Also, I'm talking to a dealership about getting a 2002 - White/Red, of course.

In case some of you haven't seen pictures of the 2002 glass rear window, new colors, etc., see:

Glad they retired your old one. I'll be quite jealous of the glass rear window but that blue is just too blue (interior). Do you know if they are raising the price of the '02s?

I have been told to expect a 2% price increase, but I haven't talked to anyone who has pricing sheets or knows for sure.
