Zo,

I think you would be okay to drive here, but can understand the concern of doing so! I had been keeping my shifting to around 4K and stayed out of VTEC the entire time I waited to get this done. I drove like this for approx 3 weeks and then skipped the auto-x.....and thank GOD I did.

Definitely get this done bro. I was freaking out when we started seeing these retainers all cracked. The pictures are good but when looking at them in person you can see how BAD they really are.

Come on up to Dallas. I'll take a PTO day and we can get your car all taken care of!
Thanks dude,

I wish I could take off, they have a lot of work and need it all done by the end of this year, I was even working on Thanksgiving (FTL) LOL

I will definately try and come up there this month hopefully and then we can vtec together after I change my retainers and all

btw, I love that dp!! Makes me wanna vtec which I have to avoid now because of all those nightmares

I am going to wait and see what Marcucci has to say about these.

If Marcucci thinks these are better, then this is what I am going for, but people usually stick with AP2 which are better than AP1 and it's still made by Honda and considered OEM. Anything aftermarket inside engine makes people like me more paranoid :S

Many "track only" S2Ks use the stock valvetrain. I would not spend the money on this personally. But it seems if you want titanium retainers you have to get aftermarket springs I was talking with Todd about this the other day. OEM FTW!

^The springs are fine. There is not an issue with the springs just the retainers. I would not go to great lengths to change out the springs. In fact they are usually sold as a set with aftermarket retainers and keepers. You should be fine with the stock springs
