Why you should change your AP1 Valve Retainers
#151
Not sure if its been asked before but seems that the intake are the usual suspects. Can just the intake side be replaced in the sake of saving money, lmao, or is it an all or nothing type deal?
I think I need my valves adjusted and since i'm at 98k, I may jump on this bandwagon also.

You can replace just the intakes. It cuts parts cost in half, and labor by a quarter.
For anyone that wants to do that, I'll be glad to. That would be $48 for the parts and $150 for labor. Valve cover gasket is $25 if needed.
All that said, I would still recommend replacing both at once. But I completely understand being on a budget!

AP2s it is. Sign me up on the list please.
So we're swapping out the intake side only? or was it both?

This looks like it will be the next thing I do to my car.
105k miles plus and counting.. probably about time to check them out as I have no idea how the car was driven before I purchased it.
