Talking Herstmonceux Castle, East Sussex

Right then guys and gals this is an opinion poll for a meet to be scheduled next year.

This could be a big meet, or a small one.. all depends upon the replies to this thread.

Who would be interested in meeting at Herstmonceux Castle in 2011 ?

There is a possibility of getting accomodation within the castle grounds, access to the science centre and tours of a scientific establishment

http://www.herstmonceux-castle.com/

http://www.the-observatory.org/

To book accomodation I need to book .. well the sooner the better.... which means money upfront (yup lost half of you right there).

In my personal, and slightly biased, opinion this could make for a great meet.

If you would be so kind as to let me know if you are interested by PM'ing me I'll see what I will then let you know possible dates based upon the number of rooms needed for accomodation. If you have questions, comments do let me know too ! (should I run away now ?)

Cheers!

Count me in for this, sounds great ...and rooms sounds better than camping

My brother in law developed the Starlink AST library for handling world coordinate systems in astronomy. I might find out what this does...

Seriously ? your brother-in-law developed starlink ? ! Not one single astronomer of when I did my BSc didn't know starlink and I don't think that has changed ! Epic !

I'd be interested in this. Herstmonceux Castle is a great place - we went for visit last year, but too late to see the observatory.

Can I bring my own telescope

If its a camping event can it be when its warm please

Dennis
You've got the wrong castle. Your pics are of Bodiam castle I think.

Not far away and equally as pretty though
