North Weald Activity Day 21st march
Just booked this , as it's the first time I have done anything like this and bearing in mind I have studied the trackday faq's is there any advise on what to do /not do .
Also ,as Swmbo is ' supervising ' is there any tip's on persuading her to actually drive ? rather than threatening extreme retribution for any damage caused / excessive thrashing of 'her ' car or going on about her taking a turn on track .
Thank's for any ' pearl's of wisdom '

I'm going on the 21st too, so can help out/advise.
It's not really a track day as such, as it's "one car at a time" on the activities, so it's plenty safe enough, and you can go as fast, or slow as you wish.
It's an airfield so there's nothing to hit.
Here's a couple of vids from the Lotus guys who were there

I've been to N weald many times over the years, both on 4 person days and Activity Days with Lotus On Track. I even took my old Omega V6 up there! It's really good, safe fun, with nothing to hit.
The only advice I would personally give car-wise is to whack a load more air in the tyres. My fronts scrubbed on the last day, and they had about 50psi in them..........yes, 50!
It's nothing like a track day, it's not sweeping corners, it's all hard braking and steering, so the tyres will be punished. Maybe others have got away with standard pressures ok, but i personally wouldn't consider going there with standard pressures. My Elise was always fine because it's a light car, but any lardy car like the S will suffer to a degree.
I'd bring lots of warm clothing, it gets really cold up there. And don't have anything loose in the car.

You only get 4 or 5 runs at the high speed bend, so I wouldn't bother with upping the pressures too much, and the same goes for the timed lap part as shown in the video.
I started off upping them before the high speed bend part of the the day, but it wasn't really worth it IMO - different story for a proper 4 car "Walshie" day though.
Agree about the warm clothing and loose items.

Not really, they explain what you have to do and let you get on with it.
