While waiting for my s2k to be delivered from Virgin, I have been trawling the net for info on the car. Couldn't help but notice that Honda originally claimed a 0-60 time of 5.5 seconds but now only claim 6.2 seconds.

Any idea what happened here?

Officially honda claimed 0 - 60 in 6.2 Sec. this info is 2 years old.

You can get 5.6 or maybe 5.5 if you get your clutch/ shifter/trottle
action spot on.

Originally before the car was released the claimed time wsa sub 6 seconds. The car had a 10,000rpm rev counter and all lookde great.

However, since the car's launch the official time has only ever been 6.2.

Of-course, getting 6.2 without thrashing the revs is quite hard. It can be very embarassing going for it at a set of traffic lights (all that screaming engine makes you appear a part).

So most people probably get nearer 6.5 or 7 seconds.

If you sidestep the clutch at 6000 revs and hold on tight you can (In the right conditions with good tyres yada yada yada) get 5.6 or 5.8.

But is it worth it? Almost certainly not unless you are sat on a track grid.

Its important that you realize Honda UK quote 0-62mph (0-100kph) in 6.2, Autocar magazine reckon that this extra 2 mph can add up to 0.4 seconds, they got 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds.
