Default 54,000 (72 month) Service

I've been phoning around Honda dealers on prices for my 54,000 (72 month) service which is now due. I'm aware there are similar threads already on here, though a few years old, so I assume prices would have increased slightly.

I been quoted between £380 and £506 (both including replacement spark plugs & rear diff' fluid as per the 72 month service schedule)

Has anyone else had the pleasure of the 54,000 (72 month) service yet, if so, what prices have you been quoted?

The dealers I've spoken to are in the South-West.

The cheapest quote I got from Honda was £499. I'm getting it done on Saturday for £390 at a specialist garage.

I was quoted £550 for a major service, something I was not prepared to pay.

I did it myself probably taking between 4 - 5 hours including a trip to Halfords to get a 23mm spanner. All in it cost me <£200.

See Major Service

I can understand why it costs that sort of money at a main dealer, either your hourly rates are very low, or they are not actually doing what they say they will do, just my opinion.

Had mine done in May last year at our local Honda Dealer for just under £400 all up (admittedly it's 9 months ago so you might want to add a few quid).

I had mine serviced at City Honda in Basingstoke two weeks ago. I paid £370 after S2KUK membership discount was applied and that didn't include a new air filter. It's not cheap but I was impressed with the service there. I can't see where you're based so that might not be an option for you.

Having said all of the above I won't be using Honda for servicing anymore as I intend to use a specialist from now on to save some money and also because the car won't be standard spec for too much longer.

If you're not a member I would suggest joining S2KUK as the membership benefits save you over and above the membership fee and you will receive a nice keyring and windscreen sticker in the post. You can check the website for dealers that claim to participate in the discount scheme and always check on the phone before you book a service (ideally after they quote the price so that you can be sure they don't claim to have already factored that discount in).

Hope this is helpful.

Edit - This was for the 54k service and included diff fluid plus spark plugs as required in the service schedule.

Thanks for all the feedback. I’ve found a Honda Dealer near me who is charging £380 for the 54k/72 month service. I’m planning on supplying the spark plugs as Honda charge just under £90 for four NGK Platinum plugs. This should bring the price down further. Thanks again all for your info.

Just paid £500 including having valve clearances done and a courtesy car. I was happy to pay that. Good knowledge about the car.

^ That seems like a very impressive quote!
I rang around for some quotes today as I will be looking to have my 54k service over the next month or two.

Thought I would post up some quotes from 3 of the closest Honda garages:

All prices above are before any form of discount.

Ruislip Honda ------>£428.46
Southall Honda ---->£462.20
Chiswick Honda --->£500.79

All three confirmed the followed are changed/examined:

Oil filter
Pollen filter
Air filter
Spark plugs
Brake fluid
Valve clearances
Diff oil

The general consensus was that it was a 4hr job, but they like to say "leave it with us for about a day" in the first instance....

My S2000 has only ever gone to Chiswick so I will see if they can get their prices down!
