Maybe they were desperate to have a decent car in for a service instead of the usual stuff!
They are an (notorious ) NSX dealer.

Where are you going to take it now Tachbrook has become a Mitsubishi place, Craig? Brindley in the city centre? Or has the new one on the Stratford Road opened yet?
I had a letter from Honda saying that from 1 February Avondale Honda, Stratford Road, 0121-744-7744 will open for business

Why not do the filter and fluid changes, brake and clutch bleed and pad changes yourself and just get the inspection and wheel alignment done in the shop? This is what I have done and it only cost me $80.00 US, minus oil and parts.

BTW, Are you sure your pads are worn that much after only 27,000 Kms? It seems excessive to me, I currently have over 34,000 kms on the original set of pads and they are far from needing replacement.

Pull the wheels and check them yourself, replacement OEM pads are not more than $50 US per pair. It is easy to replace them, and you can bleed your brakes at the same time!

This is a very easy automobile to work on and I get as much enjoyment out of doing my own maintenance as I do driving it. Just remember to keep your receipts, in case you need them for warranty issues.

When selling/part exchanging cars in the UK, it helps the sale if all services are done by Honda dealers.

BTW, it's 27000 miles, not kilometres - approximetely 43200 kilometres.

Oh, and another thing, Honda parts are far more expensive here than in the US. It's often cheaper to order stuff from the US & have it shipped over

Stormin ... you could try Aylesbury Honda. I bought my S there and they seemed a decent bunch. Came back to Glasgow before a service was due so can't vouch for their performance first hand.

St Andrews Honda at Crossmyloof are good though ...

I just rang Slough Honda to book my car in for it's 27K service
Slough although New And Improved are still not that good IMO

Tried to tell us we needed new spark plugs on our 63k service last week

I would ask them again if you really wont to have it done there if they have quoted you for the right service and not the 54k one ,if they are trying to charge that price still just tell them what else you have been quoted and they will drop the price ,always have done for us in the past
