S2KUK dealer discounts should be available at some point soon. I am just putting together a list of those offering us one currently and will publish it soon. (Not as many as Revs just yet though)
How soon? Before the 3rd Feb and my service at Maidenhead?

Doug, i hope to get an email out before this weekend to members. Not all dealers have responded yet however, so we might need some help, but details of that will be included too

Aquilaeagle - what appears to be the matter with the Hemel dealer and do they not give Revolutions discount?

When selling/part exchanging cars in the UK, it helps the sale if all services are done by Honda dealers.

BTW, it's 27000 miles, not kilometres - approximetely 43200 kilometres.

Oh, and another thing, Honda parts are far more expensive here than in the US. It's often cheaper to order stuff from the US & have it shipped over
I have the dealer's record of service inspections, the record of service on the Honda Owner website, and a log book of maintenance and repairs completed. I don't see how the value of the car would be discounted if records and receipts are kept. I have had quite a few vehicles in my life and whether I sold the car privately or traded through a dealer have always been told by the purchasers that they were very impressed that I kept the simple log book and receipts.

As for the parts being expensive, to me it would make it even more attractive to do the simple maintenance chores myself. The other thing is that when you do it yourself you know that it was done right. Spend some time just observing what goes on in the work bays in a auto dealership. Take a look at the oil jockey that does the oil service in most shops sometime. Do you really think they take the time to drain the fluids properly, use a new crush washer on the drain plug, tighten the filter properly and torque the plug to specs? Even at the Porsche dealer they have "the apprentice", some 18 year old kid getting paid minimum wage, doing the oil changes on "your baby".

Personally, I would much rather do it myself, save money, have the peace of mind knowing that the job was done right and having the confidence that when I am flying down the road at excessive speeds that the wheels, brakes and driveline are in good working order because I did the work myself.

Sorry about the rant, I didn't mean to flame, but I guess I come from the old school where part of ownership of a sports car or motorcycle is to know the vehicle mechanically as well as from behind the wheel or handlebars. (Many years of Triumph and MG ownership taught me a lot about the workings of a cars and bikes) and as I mentioned before, I get as much enjoyment out of working on cars and bikes as I do driving/riding them. Not to mention being able to teach my children, and now grandchildren, the great enjoyment and satisfaction of feeling comfortable working on a machine of any type and to spend real quality time together doing something so much fun and rewarding (Even my wife doesn't blink an eye at changing a tire or alternator if needed).

I can't put into words just how wonderful it is to see a little boy's eyes light up when after working on a motor for hours and hours, to reconnect the battery and have it fire up. It's pure bliss! There are few things that bond a bond a boy to a parent or grandparent better than sharing these kinds of experiences together. ( I think I'm going to cry now )

Different markets, different dealership and customer prejudices. Unless the intention is to keep a vehicle for a good length of time, a part exchange or sale will be influenced by not having a service book with the appropriate stamp.
