Default Acceleration problem

I have had my S for nearly 2 Months and on four or five occasions now when I have floored it in second / third gear it gets to around 7,000 rpm and it just stops. I have to change gear to get it to accelerate again, this is very annoying and very dangerous especially when I am over taking, has anybody else had this problem, if not any ideas.

Cheers Planeman

You are letting it warm up? until you have 3 bars on the temp gauge your hit a cold rev limiter at around 6k.

I dunno.

is it still cold , it needs at least 2 bars on the temp or vtec will not kick in .
also if the oil pressure is low due to low oil, it will cause the same effect.
check both next time.

Cold engine?
The rev limiter kicks in lower when the engine's not up to full temp.

Let your car warm up man! driving hard when cold is the biggest engine killer going. Remember there's a reason why the limiter is there. I'd never go over 5000rpm 'till warm, let alone 7k.

I reckon, you'd do more damage revving to 7k for 5 seconds when cold than you would driving at 9k all day when warm.

Anyway, you live and learn.
