Advice on accident needed!
Hi all, this is my first post after buying my S2000 last week after about 2 years of scouring pistonheads/ebay/autotrader etc. I was over the moon with it until unfortunately I hit a lamp post on Friday on my way to work after spinning on a wet a diesel covered off camber bend at about 20mph (absolutely gutted). It hit the off side just in front of the front wheel, the front wing, bonnet and bumper are crumpled, light is destroyed and also the chassis underneath is slightly crushed inwards. Both airbags have gone off too.
Anyway my question is, if the insurers deem it repairable (probably unlikely?), should I go with one of their 'authorised' garages or should I take it to an independent garage? I have seen wings/bonnets/bumpers for around £250 each on ebay which would possible make it economical to repair if I sourced the parts myself (the car is worth about £7000).
Any advice is more than welcome! Thanks, Andy

It would help if you post a pic or two
They are expensive to repair, they wont bother if there's £4k plus of damage i guess

Exactly take the money and move on
OR
If its definitely economically fixable (you need to be careful and look at the chassis elements so it can be put back on the road as say a CAT D) then let them pay out buy it back and fix it, or break it.
Having been a similar situation and the ball ache of breaking I'd take option 1.

Thanks for your replies, this was the answer I was expecting but not wanting to hear! It's a 53 plate faccelift in really good condition...

That's not nice to see, if you can fix it yourself and like a project it may be worth it but if you need to spend money getting bits done take the insurance and look for another
