Default After VTEC Tapping noise

Just thought I'd post this:

I was out for a drive the other day hit 7000rpm in second then went upto 7000 in third then let the car run down to 4100rpm - I noticed a ticking/tapping sound comin from the center dash towards the engine slightly on the passengers side which was quite worrying as it just wasn't normal! I then checked the oil three times and behold my oil level was low (It was filling up 2 out of the 5 diamonds), I went and topped up the Oil at Honda and I then repeated the process and the noise has gone (let's hope it stays gone!). Thought I'd post this incase anyone else ever experiences it.

Should I assume that if 4 out of 5 Diamonds are not filled on the stick then don't vtec and get it filled?

Cheers,

Pt.

PS. I could mention all the good things about this car but I'd run out of words to use in the dictionary.

Yes, I've noticed a marked increase in tickover engine noise when my oil level starts to decline, topping up sorts it out though - suprising that a couple of hundred ml of oil can make such a difference isn't it?

FWIW I try and keep my oil level on MAX i.e. all diamonds filled, after all this is the way the car comes out of the factory
