Hello everyone

My car has developed a problem whereby if the ignition key is inserted with the drivers door open, then it bleeps and if the engine is started the alarm goes off! This doesn't happen if the door is closed before inserting the key- so far anyway! I have spoken to Ian at Bristol Honda, who suggested it could be something to do with the internal light - which I'll check, but in the mean time does anyone have any suggestions?

To make all this worse, I first noticed the problem about two weeks ago and didn't check when my warranty expired until this Monday, and guess what - it expired last Friday!!

Some unrelated good news is that we are just about settled into our brand new house in Cardiff having moved in last Thursday, and it would be good to see some of the other local owners.

If the keys in the ignition and the drivers door is open they all bleep, its to remind you to take the keys out of the ignition if your getting out of the car, not to do with the alarm IMO. Not sure what the alarm would have to do with the internal light setting it off either?? If its only a couple of days out of warranty the dealer should stand over the majority of it, if not get on the phone to Honda UK and stir up a storm, they should offer a settlement if its so close to the expiration.
