Alarm sounding for no reason
I have had an issue tonight with my alarm sounding for no reason.
When I got to the car park, I opened the boot put my bag in, then unlocked the car. At this point the alarm started going off. I tried several times to arm and disarm, then lock and unlock the car, but it wouldn't shut up (except on its 30 second time out, then it started again)
Strangely I was able to start the car while the alarm was going off, so the immobiliser wasn't doing anything.
In the end I put the roof down to let some of the noise out and drove it out of the car park and through town (to some funny looks) until it finally shut up on its own.
When I got to my first destination about an hour later, as I parked up and turned off the engine it started sounding again. It shut up on its own after two cycles this time and hasnt done it since.
any ideas why this has happened please? It's a MY04 with a Honda alarm, not a H&P one.
Battery was swapped later last year and appears to be fine as it started first push of the button and the roof lower in good time.
TIA

I do have a phone connected to the stereo via Bluetooth, but it wouldn't have linked at the point the alarm first went off as I hadn't turned the ignition on.
I'm wondering if I have a loose connection on the siren box and its switching to a battery backup maybe. Does anyone know if that is possible?

I had a problem a couple of times like this, it seemed to be do with opening the boot before unlocking the doors?, I too had to let it run it's course as locking/unlocking only made it reset and wail longer. I now unlock the door before the boot and it hasn't happened since.

interesting, thanks. Ill have to try and see if I can replicate it at home now.
I always do it that way. unlock the boot, then unlock the doors as I close the boot
also it was strange that when I arrived the alarm started again with the engine still running and I never touched the boot at that point
