Default Alignment

Well after taking avoiding action to not hit a white van man not looking where he's going, I've buggered the alignment of the passenger side of the car. I hit a big curb side on at about 5mph (havent scuffed an alloy was just both tyre walls).

Phoning about (and given the run around by one garage "yes we can" on the phone, "no we can't" when you get there and sound like you know what you are on about) it looks like no tyre place will do it.

Are Honda actually any good at getting the specs that I want back in? They say i need to be without the car for a day .. nice, doubt i'd get a loan car either.

I would go to Chris again, as I'd rather he got my cash than a dealer. But crabbing up the M40 at 35mph for 3 hours wouldn't be fun at all.

You could always give them the settings and get a firm undertaking from them that they will get within the tolerences you set. Just get them to put thier money where their mouth is if they don't get it right you don't pay.

If they don't agree to those terms tell them to take a hike and endure the drive to Chris. At least with him you know you'll get the job done right.

Depends on the dealer and what kit they have, I'd guess.

My old dealer had the proper 4 wheel laser alignment kit so, at least in theory, they could do it. Whether they could in practice would depend on the operator's expertise, I guess, but if you ask for a print out you can see for yourself how close they managed to get it.

Ring around and ask whether your various localish dealers whether they have the full monty laser alignment kit.

Reading Honda said they have the full works to adjust "everything that can be adjusted".

I have the full spec sheet from Chris about my car.

I suppose I'll have to do a day with no car and let them go to work.

I also noticed a nail in my wheel when I took it off to dial in some rear toe. Great.

If you mean Avonvale, I have my doubts. However, the overlooking of my seized bolts was my beef, and Ben knows his are all fine, I think?

No, I was referring to Tachbrook.

(I moved just before Avonvale opened up and started trading on the Stratford Road.)

Castors were an issue .. but then they were so bad that a 500mph knock wouldn't have moved them, so I doubt the'll be an issue.

Everything else was fine.

I used to live in fleet, and I've never heard of them.

Will call him now. Thanks for the details.
