Low speed entry.

I think I need to look how they are today and then see what we can change on Thursday. I dont think WIM do geo with driver weight in the seat either - this would be useful as its mostly driven with me in the car on my own

WiM in Chesham have a load of weights next to the alignment rig for just that purpose. You will need to tell them what you weigh of course!

Hmm, low speed entry is usually better with the toe out. Daft question but are all the dampers in good condition?

At WIM now. Will update later but front right was miles out. 2'30" front camber and 1 deg toe out!

Ok so I'm back now and here is the alignment sheet, before and after. Before has changed a lot since the alignment 2 years and 16k miles ago which is on page 1 of this thread. Like anything that happens over time, you don't notice it, the steering wheel was also slight left when going straight.


The after settings are pretty much what I wanted except for the front camber, this is more that I planned but Tony thinks the subframe has moved slightly, indicated by the SAI and the fact the front camber adjuster is maxed out meaning this is the minimum front camber Tony could get.

He also removed the rear toe( tiny bit left to help warm the tyres) and kept a small amount of front toe out. Also took the rear camber back to 2 degrees, this may be better being higher now due to the front camber values

I've driven it back and it felt good, obviously much more stable than before and a lot more front grip with direct turn in and balanced self centring. Tony did warn me it would be more oversteery now, especially with that much front camber. This is pretty evident when driving as the rear feels a lot looser. I will wind up the rear dampers now as before I had the front stiffer than rears which felt good, it feels too soft at the back now. I recognise this may exaggerate any oversteer but let's see what happens.

Proper test will be tomorrow when I drive my usual roads and will be able to get a better idea of the effect ( and of how the passive rear steering is). Donington on Tuesday to really see how it is on the limit too.

The subframe moving isn't too much of a concern as Tony could adjust around it. Everything was free as they did the bushes 2 years ago.

Rolling force lever is equal each side too despite the subframe issue so no pulling problems expected
