Default Almost rear-ended by white van man

On the way home from a long w/e in Devon, I was a sitting duck in a narrow Devon A road waiting for a car to turn right when White Van Man comes haring round the bend behind

He totally locks up, and I watch in the mirror as he heads towards me, his tyres leaving long black lines on the road

Suddenly the back end of the van swings out to the right and he drives straight into the very solid wall at the side of the road with a sickening thud thus saving my bacon, only about 10 metres behind me

I like driving quickly but I found it quite worrying how fast people drive around blind bends down there.

Scary moment!

Saved by polar moment of inertia, most probably.

Especially in two ton POS's not designed to generate or scrub off that speed very effectively!

Twat. Deserved it.

Here's my white van experience - I was waiting to turn into the work car park, WVM comes around a corner (probably on the phone), wheels locked up, lotsa smoke, etc:

Might be worth buying that lottery ticket, as today is clearly your lucky day

Your right about people driving too fast round blind bends

I never do in the S, im too frightened to push it fully round the corners. I know my father was pushing round a corner once when i first got the S i thought we were going to fly off the road but the S stuck.

Great feeling later on after following a lorry for about five miles with a Citroen something driving far too close behind me, I v-tec'ed through three gears as the A303 opened up into a long uphill dual carriageway

Looked in the mirror as reached the top of the hill and there was just an empty road behind

Trouble is, the S accelerates so fast to the horizon you don't get long enough to enjoy the experience
