I've just had an Alpine 9812 fitted complete with the dash control kit, however, the dash controls do not work as before.

The difference is that the 'MODE' button used to switch between FM, CD and MW. Now I just get FM1 or CD, is this normal with this kit?

Assuming you have the Alpine KCE865B DCI yep thats what it does!
Mine is the same as yours and Fieldl's.

IMHO Small price to pay for decent sound!

 

Bit of a bummer really. I like the easy switch to FiveLive. But great improvement in sound over the Honda kit

 

How much does a alpine head unit and adapter cost?. I fitted a JVC unit and get really frustrated with having one side of the dashboard redundant

The company below is making a bespoke interface for my Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB54 head unit for

 

CEL are also good (Leicester) for these, there are a few others car audio direct try a google search!. Make sure you get a UK spec one, US ones don't work with the KCE865B Dash Interface!

 

There was a chap very recently who made his own adapter for a non-alpine HU. You could see if he'd knock summit up for you.
