Go through the full procedure repeatedly...it took at least 10-15 attempts to get mine working properly.

Sorry, I should have elaborated. I was just trying to say that element of your problem wasnt actually a problem. Didnt want you to spend time trying to fix something that wasnt broken.

the one from Joeh?

if i'm reading it right, then what he's saying is disconnect the radio wiring.
working from the car side of things....
Honda connector > Autoleads cable > your alpine radio specific wiring
any other wiring can be got rid of (which you should have)

it's probably not much help, but my autoleads one just worked today (pioneer HU) without doing anything special - plug it in and it just worked.

presuming i've understood the autoleads wiring, then the CONTROLS are seperate from the MUTE action. mute wire is a single pink wire. the CONTROLS plug into a 'remote control' port... in my case a 3.5mm jack. is this CONTROL wire(s) connected?
