Default Alpine Nav unit installed

True to their word work started at 10-00am and was duly completed at 11-50. Well done to Halfords Northampton. No damage to the car and everything works.

I had an Alpine INA-033R 1-din tuner/cd/navigation unit installed, along with Alpine S624 CD shuttle. The location for the shuttle was "nicked" from AE, I saw his install last week. It is in the boot but facing outwards located high up in yet another cavity/secret compartment. I would post piccies but I dont know how. Maybee AE cld show us his ??
The JBL's will be hear Thursday and I look forward to them.

Sound is already better and of course music choice with the shuttle. I did'nt go for the MP3 unit 'cause I am old and a little slow, like my PC so would never get around to downloading and a folder to me is a brown cardboardy thing for putting paper in !!

Well satisfied, only need to figure out the settings and no more getting lost ! My A8 had great 7" screen nav in it.

how is the changer fixed in the boot? I know where it is placed as I have seen AE's pic, but how is it secured?

I am thinking of adding the multichanger to my install this weekend.

Thanks

I believe engineers call it "an interference fit" I believe the cavity is just the right size to push it in tight, as they say !

Maybee AE or someone else knows 'cause I dont.

Yup thats my fit franky Dunno how it is secured that was one of Allan's questions. I think it is just tight, maybe some of that spray in foam stuff or something.

I think I am going to fit mine in the tool box. I did a huge search on the Electronics forum, and found a picture of a multichanger sitting in the toolbox. Looks like a good a place as any to fit it.

One good advantage of fitting it here is that no one can see it when th boot is open, so it's quite stealthy, and of course, no room is lost on the boot.
