Default Another Tyres Thread

Recently come back from a road trip to Provence, went staying off toll roads via Reims, Geneva & Chamonix.
About 30 miles north of Geneva there's a great little pass that I can't remember tha name of, but it was so much fun, that I went back, faster. Only to find I needed to go back again with the tail hanging more
After that my wife had enough &the weather went from great to the heaviest rain I've seen. I couldn't keep the car in a straight line, I'd wpied the rear out! So found some tyre places, thanks to iphone, & the only tyres I could for the same day were Vredestein.

So after a long story, does anyone have any experience of this brand?
Ive got to say that the first 2500 miles on them are pretty good, loads of feel & very predictable.

I await the collective knowledge of the forum

Vredesteins were discussed a few weeks ago IIRC.
Seem to be quite popular in Italy.

Haven't tried them on the S, but have been very impressive in the wet on other cars, and good in the dry if not the most exciting/dynamic tyre ever!

Vredestein tyres are supposed to be really good. Which model is it they fitted? Ultrac's?

As said above, it depends which model, but they are definitley on the "give them a try" list, so you may have lucked out there!

Ultra Cueltas i assume is ultra c, yes. On a 16" rim, as I say good in the dry, & looks like I'll get the opportunity to try them in the wet in about an hour.

Apparently the local Honda dealer at Annemaase swears by them, that's why they were in stock at the tyre place.

We just put a set of Sportrac 3s on my wife's Fabia VRs, and they are really good. The previous tyres on the car were Michelin Pilot Exalto which were good too. The Vredesteins are slightly softer but seem to be quieter and have better wet grip. I'm seriously considering them for the S2000 (16" wheels) when my slightly agening SO2s get thin on tread, if they come in the correct sizes.

The rears are the correct size & now you mention it they are quieter. Also at least as good as the Bridgestones in the wet. All in all, after a sceptical start, I'm very happy with these & will be looking to replace the fronts with Vredestein's.
