Default Losing the Back End...

Well, finally had to happen. Lost the back end on a roundabout on a wet road on Sunday morning - it was an unfamiliar road in Newport, so I didn't approach the roundabout especially fast, although I suspect my mistake was touching the brakes.... Anyhow, fortunately I got away with it - the other cars on the roundabout managed to avoid my 360 spin, and I managed to avoid the roundbout itself!! Scary moment though.

Incident was almost certainly not helped by front tyres being just on the legal limit, so took a trip to Micheldever Tyres this morning. They are just starting a new Premier Service for high performance cars. It currently costs

I'm surprised it's taken you this long!
I did my end-swapping fun in the first few weeks of ownership on fresh tyres, so when I'm on worn ones I'm usually not bad as I drive super smooth to avoid another spin.

Did mine in the first week of ownership Admittedly deliberately, and on a roundabout renowned for its greasiness

I've done about 1000 miles on my new (to me) MY00 car. I've been kicking the back out at every oportunity to get used to RWD.

The car has Pirelle P6000's on with loads of tread. I was going to swap for S02's but now I'm going to keep them on for winter.

Has anyone else used these tyres and have anything positive to say about them. they don't seem too bad for everyday driving and the occasional hooliganism

Got mine nealy 5 months ago. Havent swapped ends yet but how often do find that the rear end goes out.
Like yesterday waited to get out of a juction and had been there a while when there was tight gap. Went for it!! Tail out down the road, Might have looked good and was fun but did want it to do it.

Makes me feel better that I have lasted so long in that case!! Have lost the rear several times before, but have never spun it until now. Must've been diesel on the roundabout I reckon!
