If you read the small print (I'm talking about the "free" extended warranty following the oil jet mod - but I'll bet Hondacare is the same dog with different spots) it doesn't look like it is insurance but a "guarantee"!
The good news is that the dealers are supposed to make the claims for you and the "gaurantee" is supposedly provided by Honda UK.

Don't bang your head over it. In Business-Speak (B.S.???) it's a branded product.
An insurance company provides the financial backbone behind the product (the warranty), but has Honda sell it under their name. UK law prolly says that the underwriters have to disclose their name.
But in terms of the consumer, it is invisible. It was sold by Honda, and it is valid at any Honda/Acura dealer, as well as any factory-authorized Honda service center. This is how most, if not all, manufacuturers manage their extended warranties.
It's not much different than using your phone to call someone. BT may provide your phone service, but that is not to say that, end-to-end, your call travels across a line that belongs 100% to BT. However, it is BT that honours and bills you for the service.

I think virtually every manufacturer's extended warranty is administered by a 3rd party warranty company. WHG underwrite everything.
BUT... See my new thread regarding Warranty Holdings.

Spoke to Honda today and their official line is that all policies underwritten by Warranty Holdings will be honoured by Honda and that a letter is being sent out to confirm this.
