Aww Bugger!
After 6 trouble free months of S ownership I had the need to remove the wheels for the first time today, as I have a looming trackday and wanted to give the car a thorough check round.
So got the locking wheel nut, tried the drivers side front first, wheel brace on loads of pressure - no movement. So try the passenger side, hardly any pressure then crack, the sticky out bit (technical term) sheared straight off. Looking inside the bit that came off it is clear to see that the nut was badly corroded.
Anyone had any similar trouble? Was it relatively straight forward to have the broken nut removed?
Also given the lack of movement on the drivers side i'm a little nervous about trying to remove the nut from this side now any tips as to getting it off without this one breaking.
Thanks in advance!

I think that the locking wheel nuts shipped with the MY00-MY01s were kack, & this has happened before. The newer cars shipped with rebadged McGards, which are less prone to this.
There are tools to remove locking wheel nuts - if you google, you'll find someone / something. It depends on how much of the nut is still attached to the stud.

Here's a link, which I'll remove in a few hours:

Cheers gents will try a few of the above.
It was the little cylindrical bit between the plastic 'cap' and the main part of the nut itself which sheared off. So the socket will still go over and the pins will still go in but it won't have a 'guide' if you like.
Its really hacked me off, cos I still dont know wether I'm gonna need new brake pads yet, cos I can't see clearly enogh with the wheel on.
