Silly me, by the sounds of it I've got it all wrong buying a 55phb Fiat Punto, which incidently I've not had any moments in. I should however be running round in a 350bph rear wheel drive car because it'll make no difference.

Are you guys for real?
which would you prefer not to bend....let me guess

Therfore like me and many other owners you have a betaer which is good for these conditions as if it does get sideways your not going to fret to much over denting it.

Country road this morning. Me in the beater (BMW 3 estate oil burner). Hill & bend. Ungritted road. Snow falling.

BMW Z3 sideways stopped across the road. You could see everyone laughing at what a prat he was.

Then it was their turn to try & drive over the ice patch on the hill I think a lot of humble pie was eaten

Still, fantastic fun! Was actually going up the hill SIDEWAYS for about 100m, full l/h lock & no traction. Superb! I was so good at it, I kept catching up to the car in front (also sideways on).

Thats right, i couldn't give a stuff about the Punto, its disposable.

The fact still remains that the chances of crashing the punto are significantly less than the tiv in these sorts of weather conditions. In fact the chances of crashing the punto in any conditions is much less than a powerfull rear wheel drive car, be it an S2000, Tiv, Porker ect...

I've driven a lot in the snow & have had no real problems, other than rushing to get a train last week & trying to get into Darlington station only to find the car unable to climb up a bank to the station. This was however after a hill start & other cars had the same problem. Had to park elsewhere & missed my train by 5 minutes.

i had my first scare after 1 month of ownership... cold tyres, damp road and a bit too much boot caused me to do a 180 at a quiet country junction... definitely been more respectful since then...

i was chatting to a honda employee the other day and he said he'd been given the company S to look after for a couple of days... it was too lively for him - he took it back and told them to keep it

Thats funny, when i had my S and it snowed, i couldn't even get it off my drive without clearing all the snow first and then i have been unable to get out of my street.

Never had any problems in the snow with any of the FWD cars kelly has had.
