Ok so I have contacted the seller on e-bay and he has been very good with communication but is adamant that they are S2000 specific and that the bracket which is 90 degree's is correct. Bullshit.

So, I am now looking at 2 options...send them back, which they have offered a full refund including covering my postage OR get a mallet to the brackets to bend them to the 45ish degree angle that is needed.

If I send them back what are the other options for brands? I don't want the snot green Tein ones and the SOS ones are $200

I'd try bending one to see if it fits, if it does keep them if it doesn't bend it back and send it back

That's the bit that gets me. I'm all for quality parts as they fit so well, but $200 for a bonnet strut is stupid - a little like a few other things i've seen for sale recently, they are what they are, there's no requirement for it to be over-engineered as it ends up over-complicating things.

Let me know how you get on, I fancy a set of these but they're worth £20 delivered not £100+

Well I finally got this sorted in the same way Oxhouser did by the sounds of it!

I was offered a full refund but thought sod it and took the risk...I took the brackets to work, chucked them in a vice and bent them with a hammer. They now fit so if you buy a set with the same problem thats what you'll have to do to sort it! Be careful not to twist the bracket as I did with the first one though as it was a bit of a pain to straighten again!

The bolts supplied for the bonnet are too short as well so I had to rummage around for some spares that were about 5-10mm longer.

I have e-mailed the seller on ebay advising of what I had to do showing him pictures so hopefully he will sort the problem out for the future. I will let you know if I get a reply as he has been very good with communication.

This is the first one, which twisted slightly:

Just fitted a set of these(ignoring the instructions of course).

The bolts were plenty long enough (I was more concerned that they were too long, but they are fine), so Sokie Tech may have addressed some of the issues. The angle of the adapters was still a good few degrees off being right though.

Lacking a bench vice, and Floppy's physical prowess, I put an extree washer as a spacer between the bonnet hinge and the spring washer, which seems to do the trick without resorting to the brummie screwdriver. I'll let you know if the bonnet flies off on the A41 this evening.

On mine the brackets fit perfectly but the bolts were about 5mm too long, be careful with that.
