Default Boot lid spring

I have had the most enjoying rattle in the world, and have not been able to work out what it is spent a good couple of hours on her yesterday and found out that it is the boot lid spring that is not attached the boot lid but rattling like mad Now do I have to take the roof of to get to under what I can only call the parcel shelf, or can I get access from behind the seat?
Cheers,
Russ.

No, they're in the boot; under the spare wheel cover, IIRC.

One of the 'Ludes keeps threatening to back out and I have to jemmy it back into the hinge holes every six months or so.

Be careful though; they bite!
