Default Brake fluid capacity

I'm planning on installing my Goodridge hoses soon, and I was planning on uprating the brake fluid as well. Everyone seems to rate Motul RBF600 so I thought I'd give that a try.

Can someone tell me how much I would need to refill the whole system?

I used the Mintex DOT4 and seems to have done the job nicely.

I purchased two bottles of RBF600 (0.5L each) and I had a little bit left over. So yes, 1L will do for a full flush.

Also I got myself a one way valve with a bit of rubber tubing on it. I attached it to the bleed nipple, opened the nipple and got my mate to slowly pump the brake pedal. When he lifted off the pedal the valve would prevent any air getting sucked back into the brake lines. It really speeded up the process.

I think you can get them down your local Halfords.

Even with the valve the bleed screws let in air. If there's two of you, then one of you should close the bleed screw before the other lets off the pedal.

Gravity bleed is how I'll be doing it in future. Just open the bleed screw, then go make a cup of tea.

Halfords 5.1 in mine. I've never been convinced all this fancy brake fluid is ever worth it.

You can see some of the fluid getting drawn back up, but it quickly stops moving. And I always finish off each corner with a normal bleed without the valve just to make sure.

I guess when it comes to brakes, I shouldn't cut corners.
