Brake Linings!
Back in Bristol and reading through the paper work on my MOT fail. It was failed on the plates and nothing else, but it was noted that the rear brake linings were wearing.
What does this mean!!?!!

Linings more typically referred to brake drums, not the pads for disks.
So whoever wrote it has either been working on cars a long time or doesn't really know enough to write stuff down properly. And just saying 'they're wearing' is pretty poor. It's like saying 'you're using petrol'!!! Need to know current pad-depth and minimum recommended pad-depth. And work out from that how much life they've got left - I wouldn't trust a stealers word on when some work needs doing!!!
