Hi guys, i've got a strange noise coming from the rear drivers side wheel. As i brake i get a humming noise thatgets quicker or slower depending on the speed i am travelling at. It disappears as i get to walking speed and get better the longer i am driving. My guesses are maybe a warped disc or sticking calliper but maybe someone has had a similar prob and can give me some pointers. Thanks

 

Maybe it's the metal indicator on the pads telling you the pads are low?

 

I will take another look but recently passed the mot so hopefully their ok

 

That's usually more of a ringing noise than a hum.

Could just be some pad material on the disk. Have a look for any pad imprints.

 

Ok, thanks. I'm off out to the garage in a sec. Does seem to be maybe something on the disc as it changes with road speed. Let you know what i find.
