Default cabin getting hot

Hi all was wondering if anyonecan help I been driving my car more recently as someone crashed into my daily car. I've noticed that the on the drivers side of the gearbox tunnel is, is getting rather hot I had a feel over the passenger side and its just normal temp.

Does anyone else have this or am I really worrying about nothing.

Thanks

i too noticed this, especially after an "enthusiastic" drive. Think its normal considering how close the gearbox/engine is to your feet!

Only tends to get warm when driven hard though.

Normal driving shouldn't really heat it up.

As above, if it seems excessive it could be getting low on gearbox oil but a moderate amount of heat is normal

Drivers side of the gearbox tunnel is directly behind the exhaust manifold and therefore all of the hot air from that will be radiating in that direction as it escapes down the tunnel. The harder you drive, the hotter it will get - it's probably not the gearbox that is causing the heat

wow...

you know that bulge in the drivers side floor, against gearbox tunnel.
the other side of that, is the CAT.
that gets hot. very very hot. enough to set grass on fire under the right circumstances.
