Default Car insurance

I'm thinking of getting a second car to cruise up/down the motorway in.
Anyone any experience or knowledge re companies offering some no claims discount on a second car if you insure it with them too?

Yeah thats what i thought. I have my Focus with full NCD with Tescos & the S with Sainsburys again with full NCD (proof not asked for!). Sainsburys never asked if i had another car. Wouldn't make any difference as far as i see it. You can't drive both cars at the same time.

You'll be in a world of sh17 if anything happens and either insurance compay finds out about that. You cannot use your NCB on 2 cars, you need have the insurance company agree to give you full NCB on both cars, some will do this some will not.

I have my Tiv insurance with THB Egger Lawson who offered me full no claims on the Tiv provided i had a policy on a second car with a different insurer. Admiral also offered a special deal on insuring both cars.

Yep, tis true. NCD applies to one car only. Tesco would only issue me a letter stating what my NCD was when I either relinquished it from the beater, or terminated my policy.

I am with Elephant, they applied my 5 years NCD to the S2000 and then gave me a 3yr NCD for the beater, and they explained that they couldn't give me a full NCD on the second car as my wife had a claim 3 years ago.

Give Elephant a call. They were cool.

I use a broker called Lifesure, they insure the S for me and added the beater to that policy...no restrictons...dirt cheap.
