Yes it is a DIY job if you have all the right tools and are not to worried about dismantling a good bit of the interior! I did mine in about 3 hours but I really took my time and took out the boot liner trim to make it easier to work on (cutting it is a devil of a job as it is 4mm thick PVC with carpet on it - hard work! )

Can vouch for this. I`m an ICE novice, yet the instructions for ISO feeds and dash dismantling are very simple to follow. The boot cutting I haven`t done as I`ve gone for an MP3 headunit and don`t need a changer. But it seems straight forward to do.

So much easier & nicer & you still get to keep the boot space.

FYI : The unit is the standard Honda OEM autochanger & if you need to take it out, it takes all of 10 seconds. Despite some 'heavy' driving, I've not experienced any CD tracks jumping nor the unit overheating. It's been installed for approx 2 yrs now.

That looks the muts, Honda wanted to fit a unit on the left hand side of the boot in a cage, looked real crap so I ditched the idea...

Fitting it the way you have is the way to go and I may have a rethink............

Keith (Tyringe) and I have both moved our CD Changers to under the passenger seat, thus enabling the passenger to change discs mid journey, or for me to do so sitting down in the dry (if its raining like today). An easy task, made easier for me by mostly sitting watching and handing the odd screwdriver to Keith.

I have had one skip since putting it under the seat and I get the extra space in the boot as well as the easy changing.

Definitely recommended.

The unit is not secured because it is such a good fit. It just needed some bubble-wrap for shock absorbtion !!

To change CDs, just lift it up. As I said, to remove the whole unit takes only 10 seconds.

thanks for this guys, will give it some thought - maybe check out the halfords option. Maybe car is a bit too new to start cutting stuff? Only another 470 miles to go before can out my wellie down!

DIY all the way! Dont dare touch dealership prices....sorry Rap**t prices! It is a lot easier than you think. Did it in a new M3 convertible, bigger car than the S, and it took me 1 and a half hrs. Neat job, and I only charged the customer
