Default CEL is on

I went for a wee run out in the 'S' with SteveFB today, on a recce for the upcoming Durham Tees Valley meet.
Upon rounding a bend I drove straight through a large puddle that neither of us saw coming. Cue a torrent of water over my bonnet.

Everything seemed fine initially, until I noticed I was doing 0mph, but the wind in my hair suggested otherwise. That, and the CEL was on.

We pulled over to assess the damage and it looked like water might have got into where the fuses are situated. We were in the middle of nowhere so I had to just grin and bear it, and make the trek home.

On the way home, the speedo started going mental, telling me I was doing 70 through small villages and such. It carried on like that for about half an hour (for about five minutes, the EPS light came on too) then everything seemed to return to normal. Speedo works fine and the car is running fine, but the CEL is still on.

So, can anyone tell me if they think the problem is sorted and the CEL just needs resetting (or whatever it is you do to make the light go away)? Or should I investigate further?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I am a useless shoite, and don't have a clue about such matters.

Cheers

I think you've managed to soak the loom and shorth the control boxes.

You need to disconnect as much as possible (keep notes!) & gently dry it all out with a hairdryer or heat gun.

Some WD40 might help, too, but I'd sooner give it time to dry naturally.

With luck, it will all come back, but you'll have to do a reset to kill the CEL.

I'm beginning to think the S2000 should have a crtl+alt+del button somewhere!

Yeah agree with Nick. You have wet the loom. I'd dry them out and RESET the ECU by removing fuse and neg terminal and bettery for a few minutes OR....

You have a JDM S2000 right? you can read the CEL light by inserting a paperclip in the OBD2 port and reading the flashes.

Cant remember the 2 pins but a search will reveal it.
