Hi all,

Earlier this year, I started getting an intermittent CEL light in my '04 that became more persistent. I wasn't driving the car much, but when I did everything seemed and felt normal. Sadly, before I could get the code read my battery died - and removing it to charge has obviously reset the ECU.

Since then, no CEL in spite of some very (ahem) spirited springtime driving.

I did wonder at the time if it might have been caused by using a phone charger from the lighter socket, as the CEL seemed to be more frequent when I was or had been plugged in, and first appeared after I got the charger. I haven't used the charger since the reset.

Has anyone else experienced a CEL from something like that? I'm loathe to try to trigger it again by plugging the charger in...

Have you plugged the car into a diagnostics to see if anything has been stored?

I'm heading back to TGM to have some work done in the next few days, so I'll ask Tom to double check - just seemed a bit too much of a coincidence, that was all.
