Default Central locking operation

I bought my MY02 S2000 last year which was imported from Belgium. I've always wondered if the central locking works correctly.

Both doors unlock and lock with the remote but when I try to lock or unlock the drivers door using the button below the handle on the inside of the car it does'nt automatically lock the passengers door too, likewise passenger won't lock the drivers door.

Is this normal ? or is there a problem. All the other cars i've had the central locking have locked both doors at the same time.

Any advice would be great, thanks...

Normally when operating the drivers side button should lock / unlock the passenger door (mine does).

If the car has had a separate central door locking motor fitted in the drivers door (not normal as it costs money), then operating the passenger door button will also lock / unlock the drivers door.

Methinks that you may have a problem that might benefit from a visit to the dealer.

Do you have a Cobra alarm? If so IIRC there can be a conflict with the central locking. On the plus side the boot release will work perfectly

Yes, I have a Cobra alarm fitted, looks like this is causing the problem then.

Thanks for the advice...

I have a COBRA alarm fitted, they use Slave thingys for the central locking to work off the alarm, sounds like they left something off the passenger door (or its fallen off) for to work from the 'Honda' central locking, i.e. mine works off the button as well. You could confirm with the key as well.

Was thinking about this today. This thread may explain things more fully.
Not sure I'm bothered enough to have someone taking my door apart to fit some extra interface. I didn't notice it for several months and I'm not really stationary long enough for it to be a problem If any passengers are bothered then they can just flip the button.
