Default Changing Side Lights

Im having a nightmare trying to remove the front wheel arch liner by the headlights to change the bulb. Scared I'm going to rip it, any tips on how to remove easily would be ideal. Used the manual but you know how it is when you just feel it's too much pressure to apply. Probably being a wimp and should go for it but would rather check !

Thanks in advance

Joe

I can't remember exactly off the top of my head, but I took the inner arches off over the winter and if you're talking about removing the round plastic clips then a pair of thin nosed pliers and a very light hand should do the trick. If you're talking about the 10mm bolts (or is it 12mm) under the front of the car, then they have more than likely seized solid and the only way to get them off is a) try soaking them in releasing oil then b) when that doesn't work, turn them until something breaks (usually the head comes off the nut).

I've got the trim clips off and out, ordered like 30 spares for £2 off fleabay too as always handy. But having trouble just peeling it back by the very front of the wheel arch where there's an overlap of metal to liner.

It's quite durable plastic and shouldn't tear or snap. Most of us on here have scuffed our hands fitting new sidelights.

Hard way is to put it on full lock, peel it back so you can just about squeeze you hand in and twist it out.

Easier way would be to jack up the front and remove wheel ( hence all the cut hands doing it the harder way)

Haha, ok I'll just go for it when I've next got 5 mins. These Cree bulbs better look good after all this!

When you do fit them ( and if you leave the wheel on ) leave the sidelights on so you can use the light to line up in the hole - you can see when its in the right place as you look in the front of the headlight. 10 minutes a side once you know what you're doing.
