I just think you would lose feel at the front. Look how skinn the Lotus fronts are.

I agree the car is not lacking in power though, just a few suspension tweaks, a sump and some sticky tyres will work wonders. Take some weight off and you are laughing.

But I still think for the money it's a great car as it is, and you are into the law of diminishing returns very quickly.

Yup. For sure.

The best two mods that have helped me enjoy track time so far are 'The MB' and 'The Lovegroova'

Right, I have some Engineering things to go and break.
Have a nice day gents!

120C is at the top end but TBH I treat it as a signal to go cool the whole car down in the pits By that time the brakes and tyres are complaining
On 8-10hr/day euro hoons it gets up there but cools quickly. It never caused an issue on the 7-10 day trips I've done.

I had 225's on the front and found they rubbed on the liner mounting tabs
I've just gone to 215's and knocked the tabs back a bit.

If I was turning an NA S in to a track monster I'd leave the poer/drivetrain and mess with the suspension and tyre compound.

I was thinking Rotrex because of the weight as well.

I thought you may loose feel on the front but it might be worth it for the added grip? I was thinking that a car thats 50:50 should have the same size tyres on all round? No idea if it works like that though?

That C-West data is a very good read, I was thinking aerodynamics could be a good easy start that can only make things better and it looks

I think there have been some very good points, I think I am going to concentrate on the car as it is now i.e. some more handling, bracing, last few n/a mods, weight reduction, wheels, tyres, brakes and aerodynamics.

Once i've done all that if it's not enough i'll have to stick a blower on there I think!

Think about your UK circuits.

So the majority of the time the car is spent leaning in a corner.

No matter what BHP you have, it don't mean diddly there.

Weight and tyres however, do.
Less weight might cost almost nothing but time to achieve.
Slicks or semis wont cost any more than your RE050s.

I have removed most things from the car already that I can at the moment before stripping it, though I did run it fully stripped for a while which was cool

I am going to get some of them eagle f1 assys next I think as they are supposed to be good?

I will run semis in the better weather next year.

I keep trying for a spare set of alloys but it just never works out!

My worry is once I buy brakes, I will have to have two sets that both clear brakes....

Redun, you will lose some feel and sharpness at the front. It does have 50/50 but it's not AWD, the rears drive and the front do the turning and some gripping.

I'd agree with Steve, plus a baffled sump if you're going to do the tyres. You want R888 or A048's really.

Ditch the spare wheel and anything else not worth using.

I still think the brakes are poor so they need doing.

After that it's suspension and you are into the law of diminishing returns.
